“... THE U.S. squad of Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Michael Phelps and Jason Lezak completed Phelps’ astonishing run at these 2008 Beijing Games with a world record time in the men’s 400 medley relay.

The foursome clocked a time of 3:29.34 to wipe out the U.S. global standard of 3:30.68 set by a similar foursome with Ian Crocker taking the fly leg at the 2004 Games.

Australia took silver in 3:30.04, while Japan pulled in bronze with a 3:31.18...”
